Storage accounts allowing Shared Key access

Storage accounts that allow Shared Key (account key) authorization

What LeftSize checks

Find storage accounts that allow Shared Key authorization (account keys and SAS tokens signed with them). Account keys give full access to all data and are hard to rotate and audit; Microsoft Entra ID authorization can replace them. Accounts where allowSharedKeyAccess is not set allow Shared Key by default.

Why it matters

Publicly exposed or unprotected resources are one of the most common causes of cloud security incidents.
